MK 4 wins m.i.p.a. Award

At prolight+sound, Sennheiser’s MK 4 large-diaphragm was presented with the 2011 m.i.p.a. Award in the Studio Microphone category. Paul Whiting, President of Sales, and Product Manager Sebastian Schmitz accepted the award for Sennheiser. More than 100 music and audio magazines from all over the world had voted on the best instruments and audio equipment for the 12th m.i.p.a. Awards.

The m.i.p.a Musikmesse International Press Award is organised by the Messe Frankfurt and the MM-Musik-Media-Verlag. The 12th award ceremony was held on 7 April – a success story for the organisers, who welcomed several hundred international manufacturers and sales companies to the event and were now able to rely on votes from 115 magazines from around the world.

The MK 4 won the 2011 m.i.p.a. Award in the Studio Microphone category.

The award-winning MK 4 is Sennheiser’s first side-address large-diaphragm condenser microphone. The cardioid microphone, which is manufactured in Germany, focuses entirely on the key elements of a good studio microphone and can therefore be offered at an attractive price.

In the past, Sennheiser already won awards for its e 965 switchable true condenser microphone as Best Live Microphone (2009) and for its MKH 8000 series (2008) and evolution 900 series (2007) as Best Live Microphones. In 2006, the m.i.p.a. Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Fritz Sennheiser; at the same time, the Sennheiser/Neumann SKM 5200/KK 105 S won the Live Microphone category. In 2005, the microphones of the evolution 900 series were voted Best Drum Microphones, while the Sennheiser/Neumann SKM 5000 N/KK 105 S wireless microphone won the Live Microphone category in both 2003 and 2004.
